Relief Receptionist/Switchboard Operator

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:  greet students and visitors; answer and route phone calls to the appropriate individual or department and handle incoming and outgoing mail.

Required qualifications include high school diploma with clerical experience preferred.  Must be courteous, reliable, dependable, and punctual. 

One position is available at the Steubenville campus.

 

Enrollment Specialist

Eastern Gateway Community College invites applications for a part-time position as an Enrollment Specialist.  The Enrollment Specialist will be responsible for the support, recruitment, enrollment and retention of students at the College.  One part-time position is available that will be based at the College campus in Steubenville, Ohio.  A Bachelor's degree is required. Three to five years of experience in enrollment services is preferred.  Travel, evening and weekend hours may be required.

 

Van Driver 

Eastern Gateway Community College has a position opening for a part-time temporary Van Driver for the TRIO program..  TRIO Upward Bound’s Van Driver will transport students in grades 9th-12th from select target schools (Toronto, Steubenville, Buckeye Local, Edison Local, Indian Creek) during tutoring sessions and a five week long Summer Academy held on the Jefferson County campus of Eastern Gateway Community College.TRIO Upward Bound Van Drivers are expected to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the Upward Bound participants while riding in the van.  A valid driver’s license and criminal background check will be required, training will be provided. The salary rage is $10.00 per hour, up to 15 hours per week between 7:00am-10:00am and 3:00pm-6:00pm. The ability to communicate and work effectively with students of varying abilities who need encouragement and positive reinforcement is also required.  Four positions are available.

 

TRIO Testing Coordinator

Eastern Gateway Community College has an opening for the position of TRIO Testing Coordinator at its campus located in Steubenville, Ohio.  TRIO Upward Bound’s Testing Coordinator works with students in grades 9th-12th from select target schools (Toronto, Steubenville, Buckeye Local, Edison Local, Indian Creek) during six Saturday college sessions and a six week long Summer Academy held on the Jefferson County campus of Eastern Gateway Community College.  TRIO Upward Bound Saturday College and Summer Academy Instructors are expected to plan and offer instruction, incorporate creativity and technology in their classes, submit lesson plans and biweekly progress reports, and provide tutoring or counseling referrals to program staff in ACT/SAT and common core testing. Also assists with an introduction to their fall classes, help students to strengthen their study skills, spark an interest in lifelong learning, and offer any necessary remediation in testing skills.  A bachelor’s degree, teaching certification in any discipline at the secondary level, teaching experience, ability to communicate and work effectively with learners of varying abilities who need encouragement and positive reinforcement, and a criminal background check are required.  At least two years of experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds is strongly preferred.  *A Master’s Degree will be required in the discipline if no valid teaching certificate with the bachelor’s degree.

 

Adjunct (part-time) Teaching Positions 

Eastern Gateway Community College invites applications for the following adjunct faculty positions which are needed at various sites in Jefferson, Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull counties.  The positions will be available beginning Fall Semester 2015.  Candidates must possess excellent written and oral communications skills with an ability to teach a diverse student body.  May teach a combination of day, evening, or weekend classes.  Unless otherwise specified, successful candidates must have a master’s degree in the appropriate/related discipline with 1-3 years’ teaching experience preferred.

STATE TESTED NURSES AID INSTRUCTOR.

State Tested Nurses Aid InstructorSTNA) primary instructor; current RN license, 2 years long term care experience, Train the Trainer qualification.

NURSING

The successful candidate must have a B.S.N., current valid licensure with the State of Ohio, and at least two years’ experience in the practice of nursing.  

BIOLOGY

The successful candidate must have a master's degree in biology with 1-3 years' teaching experience preferred.

ELECTRONICS

The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree in electronics with 1-3 years' teaching experience preferred. 

DRAFTING AND DESIGN

The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree in engineering with 1-3 years' teaching experience preferred. 

SURVEYOR

The successful candidate must be a licensed surveyor or hold a bachelor's degree in engineering; previous teaching experience preferred. 

PHYSICS

The successful candidate must have a master's degree in physics with 1-3 years' teaching experience preferred. 

SPANISH

The successful candidate must have a master's degree in Spanish or be a native speaker with 1-3 years' teaching experience preferred.

ART

The successful candidate must have a master's degree in art with 1-3 years' teaching experience preferred.

SOCIOLOGY

The successful candidate must have a master's degree in sociology/psychology with 1-3 years teaching experience preferred.

ECONOMICS

Based at Jefferson County Campus.  Master's in Economics or MBA with Economics required.

PHILOSOPHY

Based at Jefferson County Campus.  Master's in Philosophy required.

COMMUNICATIONS/SPEECH>

Based at Warren Center.  Master's in Speech/Communications required.

SIGN LANGUAGE

American Sign Language certification required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

COMMUNICATIONS

Master's degree in communications or master's degree with 18 graduate hour in communications required.

ECONOMICS

Master's degree in economics or master's degree with 18 graduate hours in economics or MBA required.

  1. A cover letter indicating what classes you are interested in teaching and when you are available to teach; i.e. days, evenings, weekends. Also indicate if you are qualified to teach on-line classes.

  3. Copies of college transcripts (If you are selected for a teaching position, you will be required to supply official transcripts.)
