Reporting Technician

Reporting technicians work with co-workers and external partners to provide overall administrative assistance for drilling operations. Technicians may be asked to maintain inventory, purchasing, and material logs; track budget, maintenance, and lease information; prepare drilling reports; perform administrative tasks associated with leases and government agencies; and dispatch personnel and assets.

Training focuses on workplace communication skills, both verbal and written. Topics include an introduction to technical writing, Microsoft Word and Excel basics, mapping, and radio communication. Students will also be given a comprehensive introduction to the tools, materials, and vocabulary used in the oil and gas industry.

Students will receive a Certificate of Completion at the conclusion of the course.
